I am told the patient never remembers the moments right before or after major surgery, and it seems most doctors do their best to emotionally disconnect as a way to deal with the intense weight of their responsibilities.
With this story I am trying to visualize some of the unconscious mind both in patients and doctors. I captured many photographs detailing the technical craft behind brain surgery, but in an effort to explore new methods of documentary photography I was drawn to the abstract images that resemble a dream.

The doctor from this photostory told me: "You only remember the one´s that don´t make it."
